Proverbs is a one-credit, exegetical and hermeneutical study of the book of Proverbs designed for pastors in the STM program. Students will learn to read Proverbs as wisdom literature — attending to its genre, its structure, and its place within Tanakh — so that they may pursue wise living themselves and be equipped to teach, rebuke, correct, and train God’s people in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16–17). The course moves from the literary and theological foundations of wisdom literature through translation of about 20% of Proverbs and a guided reading of the entire book in English, utilizing three respected commentaries (Kidner, Waltke, and Fox) to model sound interpretive method alongside personal, family, and ministry application. 

During Spring Online 2027, this course will run 8 weeks starting January 25.
