Summer Quarter 2026 Recap

Summer Quarter (SQ) was held on the campus of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary June 15–26, 2026. Fifty-nine pastors, including seven international pastors and three WELS world missionaries, participated in fifteen courses, daily chapel, and a variety of fellowship opportunities.

Planned fellowship activities included a thirty-minute lecture each Thursday evening. During the first week, Prof. Steve Geiger presented “Who Is You? The Artificial in AI.” During the second week, Pastor Dan Leyrer presented “Pastoral Character Development: Areas for Growth from a DP’s Perspective.” Both lectures were well received, and participants enjoyed time for questions afterward. We hope to continue this tradition at SQ 2028.

This year’s SQ included the sights and sounds of construction as work began on a new academic building, library renovations, and expanded fellowship space in the auditorium building. After chapel each Wednesday, Pres. Treptow presented a brief slideshow highlighting the construction project and the Compelled Building Program. As a memento, Summer Quarter participants received a yellow hardhat key ring.

Pastors are encouraged to mark their calendars for SQ 2028, to be held June 19–23 and June 26–30, 2028. Come and enjoy the new state-of-the-art classrooms, a renovated library, and enhanced fellowship spaces.

SQ remains a wonderful opportunity to step away from the front lines of ministry and gather with fellow pastors for time in the Word, mutual encouragement, and growth in faith, knowledge, and skill.

Praise be to the Lord for all the blessings he provided through SQ 2026!
